The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) has developed a new app that makes conveying complex concepts easy. It is called Explica! and is now available from the App Store and Google Play to make sure you can make the most out of it. The app enables users to create videos by means of a digital blackboard and record the drawing on the blackboard at the same time as they record the user's voice-over explanation. Explica! can also be used to import documents so users can work with them in the same way, drawing while creating an explanation. The result: a video that remains stored on the user's device, ready to share! Would you like to use it? The UOC is holding a competition to choose the best video created using Explica! out of those sent to email@example.com by 8 April. The winner will receive an iPad Air 2!
"What's your take?"
The "What's your take?" competition invites Explica! users to share examples of how they use it. A jury from different UOC departments and faculties will assess each case and choose the most outstanding one that best meets the assessment criteria set out in the rules, which can be consulted here.
Instructions on how to take part
1. Record a video of a maximum of 150 seconds using Explica! Use Explica! to illustrate how you use the app. Videos can be recorded in Catalan, Spanish or English.
2. Complete this straightforward online form.
3. Send the video to the following email address firstname.lastname@example.org by 8 April 2016, specifying your name in the subject line. A selection of the videos submitted will be posted on the UOC's YouTube channel.
4. Share your experience of using it. Have you thought of sharing your video about your case on the networks so that other users can learn from your experience? If so, post it and share it using the #explicaUOC hashtag.
